Susan Barrow

Susan-BarrowSusan Barrow is an L.C.S.W. with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work from FSU. She has over 25 years of experience as a psychotherapist in private practice and as a school behavioral health professional. Her vast amount of training (post-graduate degree) includes certifications in Co-dependency Training through the John Bradshaw Center, Hypnotherapy, Neuro-linguistic Programming, Voice Dialog, and Solution-focused Therapy. Susan is also a certified and practicing Yoga Instructor.

As a psychotherapist for individuals, families, and groups, Susan also sees herself as a coach, partner, team member, teacher, facilitator, and guide in her clients’ journeys to greater self-awareness and positive change.  She has been a counselor in a Wellness Program for the last 9 years, which focuses on weight loss, distinguishing between physical and psychological hunger, healthy eating and exercise, body image issues, managing stress, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Susan uses experiential approaches to therapy including progressive relaxation, visualization, and breathing techniques, art, music, journaling, dialoging, role-playing, and meditation and mindfulness. As a spiritually-based counselor she knows true healing doesn’t just occur on the cognitive, emotional, and behavioral levels, but that the “fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness.”     Galatians 5:22
